Description
The Corning 6797-620D PC-620D 100V digital stirring hot plate has a temperature range of ambient to 550 degrees C, a 10 x 10 inch white glass-ceramic top plate, and dual LED readouts. The white glass-ceramic top plate (Pyroceram) provides fast heating and resistance to chemicals and scratches. It has dual LED readouts to display temperature and speed settings. Its temperature control knob adjusts temperature in 5-degree increments. This hot plate has a stirring speed range of 60 to 1,150 rpm in increments of 5, 10, 20, or 50 rpm, depending on the speed setting, and it regulates the stirring speed for aqueous, viscous, or semi-solid solutions. Stirring control slowly increases speed for improved safety and enhanced coupling with the stir bar (sold separately). For safety, a hot top light indicates when the unit is over 60 degrees C, even when the power is off. It can hold a support rod (sold separately) for holding an external temperature controller (sold separately). This 100V stirring hot plate comes with a standard US three-prong plug for use in Japan and areas with similar electrical requirements. It is used to heat glassware and heat and mix liquid solutions for scientific applications.

Laboratory hot plates are electric or gas-fired benchtop appliances that are used to heat glassware or its liquid or solid contents. Stirring hot plates can stir a liquid solution by means of a stir bar that is spun magnetically inside the vessel holding the solution. Hot plates are commonly used in scientific research, clinics, and classrooms.
