Description

The Thermo Scientific HP11515B SAFE-T HP6 analog hot plate has a 6.13 x 6.13 inch cast aluminum top plate, a temperature range of 38 to 220 degrees C, and an accuracy of + or – 5.5 degrees C. The cast aluminum top plate provides uniform heat distribution and resistance to chipping. It has analog temperature regulation by thermostat with knob control. A well in the top plate can accommodate a thermometer (sold separately) for precise temperature control. The plate has a maximum temperature-limiting thermostat that shuts off the power if the temperature reaches 243 degrees C to prevent overheating. This hot plate is UL listed as safe for Class 1, Group C and D flammable gases or solvent vapors that can produce explosive or ignitable mixtures. Designed for permanent installation, the enameled steel housing has integrated mounting lugs, and it comes with 1/2-inch conduit and 18 inches of lead wire. This hot plate is used to heat glassware and liquid solutions for scientific applications.

Laboratory hot plates are electric or gas-fired benchtop appliances that are used to heat glassware or its liquid or solid contents. Stirring hot plates can stir a liquid solution by means of a stir bar that is spun magnetically inside the vessel holding the solution. Hot plates are commonly used in scientific research, clinics, and classrooms.
