Description
The Thermo Scientific HPA2240MQ 2200 series analog large-volume hot plate has a 12 x 24 inch aluminum top plate, a temperature range of 38 to 371 degrees C, and an with an accuracy of approximately + or – 3.5 degrees C (6.3 degrees F). The cast aluminum top plate provides uniform heat distribution and resistance to chipping. The top plate is coated with epoxy for increased chemical resistance. It has analog temperature regulation by thermostat with knob control. Its perforated stainless steel case provides air circulation around the internal controls to prevent overheating. A pilot light indicates the heating cycle. This hot plate is used to heat glassware and liquid solutions for scientific applications.

Laboratory hot plates are electric or gas-fired benchtop appliances that are used to heat glassware or its liquid or solid contents. Stirring hot plates can stir a liquid solution by means of a stir bar that is spun magnetically inside the vessel holding the solution. Hot plates are commonly used in scientific research, clinics, and classrooms.
Thermo Fisher Scientific manufactures analytical instruments, laboratory equipment, consumables, and software under the Thermo Scientific, Fisher Scientific, Barnstead, and Nalgene brands, among others. The company is headquartered in Waltham, MA.
